KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), North American leaders called upon Prime Minister of United Kingdom, David Cameron to take special measures for strengthening security of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain in London.

The MQM leaders have made this demand through a letter to the prime minister, said a statement issued by MQM on Saturday.

The letter has been issued under joint signatures of office- bearers of MQM North America, Dr. Khalid Maqbool and Ebad-ur- Rehman and Central Organiser MQM US, Kamal Zafar.

The statement said the struggle of Altaf is for protection of rights of people of Pakistan and to protect the country from extremism and terrorism and this has put the life of MQM top leadership including Altaf Hussain in danger.

It added that after murder of MQM former convener, Dr. Imran Farooq in London the risk to safety of MQM Chief and other party leaders has also been increased.
