LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed all provincial ministers, special assistants and advisors not to visit any constituency where by-elections are to be held from the announcement of the schedule till the completion of the electoral process.
He said that restriction imposed by the Election Commission in this regard should be strictly implemented, says a handout issued here Sunday.
It may be mentioned that according to recent notification of the EC, Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, Federal and Provincial Ministers and no public office-bearer can visit the constituency concerned after announcement of election schedule.
Meanwhile, the CM Punjab has directed the Chief Secretary Punjab to ensure strict compliance of the orders of the EC regarding the ban on the posting and transfer of government officials in the areas concerned after the announcement of election schedule and ensure that no government servant could use his office for influencing elections.
