Jamaat-e-Islami staged a countrywide protest and held rallies in all the major cities after Friday prayers against the NATO gunship attacks on Pakistan’s military post the other day, demanding the government withdraw from the US alliance against the so-called war on terror.
Addressing the protestors, JI leaders demanded the government lodge a formal protest with Washington, shoot down the intruding NATO helicopters and stop the NATO supplies permanently. Delivering Friday sermon at Mansoora, JI ameer Syed Munawar Hasan termed the rulers cowards, saying that if any of them stood against the US, the JI and other religious and Jehadi organizations would back it in facing the US aggression, fully resisting the American cronies and carrying out its agenda in the country.
He said that the NATO attack on the military post had clearly exposed that the so-called war on terror was America’s war, not Pakistan’s.
He said that, after having been defeated in Afghanistan, the US and NATO forces had attacked their front line ally to remove the blot of defeat through these attacks in Pakistani territory.
