KARACHI: An accountability court on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 10 alleged accused in illegal transfer of government and private lands. Judge Farzana Anwar Shah hearing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference No 74/2007 against Zulifqar Ali Abassi, former revenue official at Deh Safooran, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, and nine others, asked the investigation officer (IO) about the 10 absconding suspects. The IO requested the court to give more time to arrest the accused. The court while granting the request, directed the IO to arrest the alleged accused and produce them before the court on October 16. NAB prosecutor Altaf Khan while talking to Daily Times said the absconders included former revenue official Abdul Aziz Qazi, Ms Aroosa Jabeen, Ms Maliha, Muhammad Saad, Nooruddin, Fahimuddin, Badrul Abidin, Nawabuddin, Muhammad Khalid and Iqrar Hussain. Khan said that government officials of the revenue department had changed the records of over 100 acres of government and private lands and transferred them on to the names of some persons.
