LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday arrested Brig ® Zaheerullah, managing director of the ZI Business Group Pvt Limited, on the charges of misappropriation by cheating public at large. According to the details, the accused former army officer, along with other directors of the said company lured the general public by offering exaggerated profits, and later on deprived 149 depositors of their hard earned-money worth of Rs 104.465 million. The accused Brig ® Zaheerullah opted for voluntary return but defaulted after paying Rs 19.56 million against his liability of Rs 52.32 million. The court issued arrest warrant of the accused on Tuesday when offer of voluntary return was cancelled on the default. NAB will produce the accused before the Accountability Court today (Wednesday) for getting his physical custody on remand to proceed with further investigations.
