LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said change through non-political means may prove hazardous for the federation. However, he added, there was no harm if any change takes place within the parliament, through democratic means.
Talking to a group of senior columnists at his residence on Sunday, the prime minister said non-political ways for change could never be encouraged. He dispelled the impression that something was going to change, asserting that all matters were already in control.
The prime minister said he had a very good relationship with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif and he would be glad if he returns to the assembly.Prime Minister Gilani called upon “the change rumour mongers” to have “some pity on nearly 20 million flood-affected people” of Pakistan and stop the practice.
Online adds: Gilani said if any politician from parliament shows intentions to come forward and lead, he would move aside without any hesitation. He reiterated the need for the democratic system to reign supreme, adding that his party was following conciliatory politics and there was not a single political prisoner in the country now. He said no hindrance would be tolerated in the way of the rehabilitation of the flood-hit people.
