KARACHI: District and Sessions Judge (East) Muhammad Sadiq Bhatti on Thursday ordered the registration of first information report (FIR) against persons involved in forcefully occupying a house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

Rajhan Shabirani had filed an application against Bashir Khaskheli, Faqiro, Sheroo and Ratan Sheikh, stating that the accused forcibly entered his house in Madhoo Goth, Block 11, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and severely thrashed Shabirani, Zamin Shah, Allahwadhayo and Ghulam Ali.

The accused then expelled them from the house and occupied their property.

Shabirani approached the Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station to register a case against the land grabbers but the police neither lodged his FIR nor took any action against them, the application added.

The applicant requested the court to order the SHO of the police station concerned to register an FIR and take legal action against the accused men.

The main accused in the case Khaskheli is the district president of nationalist party Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM).

Sources in JSQM told Daily Times that Khaskheli’s membership has been suspended several times due to similar allegations in the past.

His membership was suspended for a year last time and created differences between JSQM Chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi and Secretary General Dr Safdar Sarki, sources said.

Because of those differences, Sarki left the JSQM and reactivated the Jeay Sindh Tehreek, they added.
