KARACHI: Board of Directors of Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) has prohibited blank-selling and short-selling in market with effect from Wednesday, Sep 24, for one-month period.
According to a KSE notification, the front-line market regulator i.e. KSE has prohibited blank-selling in Deliverable Futures Contract for October 2008 and short-selling in Ready Market through a resolution by circular dated Sep 19.
The Exchange has also received No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to the above decision take by KSE Board.
Notification added that these temporary changes would be reviewed by Exchange one week prior to start of Nov 2008 Deliverable Futures Contract.
