KARACHI - 446 Indian fishermen detained in the Pakistani jails will be released in first week of September. According to the reports, Government of Pakistan has decided to release 446 Indian prisoners in first week of September and the process of sending these prisoners to India through Wahga Border will start on Monday (today).
According to a Deputy Superintendent Landhi Jail Shakir Shah at least 100 Indian prisoners will be released on Monday (today) at 9:00am from Landhi Jail. He added that government approved the release of at least 446 Indian prisoners.
In the first phase of release on 30th August, 100 prisoners will be freed and the rest of the inmates will be freed on 2nd, 4th September and finally on 7th September.
Sources privy to the development said that jail administration had decided to serve the food of these prisoners among the victims of floods. And the budget of these prisoners will be continued for flood victims as each of the prisoner availed Rs65 for daily food and the amount will be given to the displaced flood affected people.
