SHEIKHUPURA: The district administration and police have warned the inhabitants of 227 localities along the Ravi River to move to safer places within 24 hours in wake of a flood threat.

According to official sources, the district administration has set up flood relief camps in nine schools and SHOs of the police stations concerned would supervise the camps.

The district admin set up two flood relief centres in Govt Liaquat High School, one in Jamia High School and one each in Farozwala, Muridke, Narang Mandi, Sharqpur and Bheki.

Flood control rooms have been set up in the DCO and DPO offices, police sources said.

Additional SP Zahid Mahmood Gondal will be the in-charge of the district to monitor the flood situation.
