Lahore: A total of 2200 tons of relief items worth Rs 190 million have been dispatched by Pakistan Army from Lahore Garrison to flood stricken areas of Southern Punjab and Sind interior within two-weeks of establishment of its flood relief camps in the City. This was stated by Brigadier Iftikhar Ahmad, Commander Logistics Lahore Corps while speaking to the media at Fortress Stadium Lahore. He said that 25 trucks of relief items have been dispatched only today, while the total figure of trucks dispatched so far is 214. BrigadierIftikhar also informed that Pakistan Army has established over 16 flood relief camps in Lahore Cantonment and more than 10 in the City. He commended the response of the philanthropists, donors and social welfare organizations & appealed to the people for further contributions to supplement the overall national relief effort.
