Bugti also instructed the CDA chairman to ensure a check on the housing societies and point out their activities, which were against the byelaws of the CDA. He said officials of CDA had made a routine that they did not monitor the activities of housing societies and in the end it becomes a huge problem for people.

Bugti said Habib Rafique’s Housing Society project Alhamra Avenue had an NOC of 626 plots and according to their own documents the society has sold all 626 plots to Shaheen Foundation, but the society has also sold hundreds of plots to common people as well. He said the society had 44 farmhouses and it has sold these farmhouses to 101 persons. He deplored that CDA had not taken any notice regarding such irregularities. He said CDA should ensure that all societies were following the layout plan. He observed that CDA ongoing practice would create another scandal in housing sector.

The representatives of the housing societies told the committee about their problems and disputes regarding the land acquisition.
