LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Finance Secretary Aunrangzeb Barki has filed a reference in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Khawaja Sharif on issuing political statements, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the channel, Barki filed the reference, accusing Sharif of issuing political statements. The reference has been sent to the Supreme Court (SC) registrar, while a copy has also been dispatched to the President’s House, the channel reported. Addressing a ceremony in Hafizabad after inaugurating a new chamber of lawyers, the LHC CJ had said the PPP should break off its coalition in Punjab, if it had any differences with the Punjab chief minister. Khawaja said that he had good relations with the Sharif brothers, however, he never put his personal ties over justice, the channel reported. daily times monito
