LAHORE: Following Friday’s terrorist attacks, sources told Daily Times that Ahmedis had been receiving threats from unidentified groups for over six months.

According to sources, following the threats, Ahmadi leaders had requested the Punjab government for providing strict security measures at their worship places across the city. Various victims of the attack on Garhi Shahu who were inside the building during the police operation, seeking anonymity, said, “The women of our community also visit our worship places, especially on Fridays. However, after the Punjab government did not respond to our pleas, our leaders directed our women not to visit the worship places,” they said, adding that the authorities had only provided a few security personnel, who unfortunately became the first targets of the terrorists
