KARACHI: Sindh Minister Sardar Ahmed said Wednesday that chalking out a master plan for the development of a city was the responsibility of the city government and the provincial government had no right to intervene into the matter. He said this while giving his opinion on a resolution moved by MPA PPP Sharjeel Inam Memon in Sindh Assembly. The resolution said that a master plan should be devised for each city of Sindh, like Karachi. However, Memon later withdrew the resolution. Ahmed said the Sindh government had no right to interfere into the process of devising a master plan for a city. Senior Sindh Minister Pir Mazharul Haq said the Sindh government had no right to prepare a master plan for the city government; however, such master plans should be devised for other districts of the province. Sindh Local Government Minister Agha Siraj Durrani said that if the MPA had approached him, he would have taken necessary action on the issue.
