LAHORE - Mother’s Day was celebrated through out the world including Pakistan on Sunday in which profound love and affection was shown to the mothers.
In Lahore various organizations celebrated the Day with devotion. Avari Hotel, Tameer-e-Watan party and other political parties in the main stream and the NGOs celebrated the day in a befitting manner.
Tameer-e-Watan party organised a seminar titled “Esteem of Mothers” at a local hotel. Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Punjab women delegation visited Fountain House on the Day. They included Amna Ulfat MPA, Majida Zaidi, Seemal Kamran and others. They distributed gifts among the women in Fountain House. The Avari Hotel organised a ceremony to pay a glowing tribute to the selfless love of Mothers. On this special occasion, the Hotel offered complimentary dine-in for mothers in all the restaurants; Kim’s, Dynasty, Fujiyama and The Tollington throughout the day. Families and children were entertained with exciting menus in all the restaurants.
Mothers winning the lucky draw were presented with gift hampers and complimentary vouchers for shopping. Special ‘Mother’s Day Cakes’ were also part of the celebrations.
To express their love and celebrate the companionship of mothers on this special day, children presented them with gifts and flowers.
People from different walks of life participated in the ceremony.
CM condoles with Rana Iqbal
Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow over the sad demise of the mother of Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker Punjab Assembly and wife of late Rana Phool Muhammad Khan, a leader of PML. In a condolence message, the Chief Minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
