LAHORE - In order to eliminate file-tampering tendency, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to issue ‘Security Feature Papers’ (SFPs) for the transfer of plots for all of its future planned housing schemes, The Nation learnt on Wednesday.
The allocation or allotment of plots on SFPs will be used in sale and purchase deeds that will ensure security to the purchaser and owner of the plots, and help counter frauds as such papers cannot be tampered or changed with others due to their proper entry and record in the computers of the Department.
Another objective of the issuance of security feature papers is to eliminate currently in vogue traditional file system, which is easy to be tampered or forged. The SFPs can be verified through computerised system of the LDA by entering a pin code issued separately for all files, which will provide complete data and other information about the plots when needed.
Earlier, the fraudsters and land mafia used to deceive the buyers of plots located in all the housing schemes developed by the LDA by selling the file of a plot thrice. They were earning millions of rupees through this unlawful activity and were deceiving the innocent people.
It is also learnt that the LDA has decided to erase its approved monogram from all the documents of the Department being used in the preparation of allocation of files of plots in the housing schemes of LDA.
