LAHORE: Director General Pepco Mohammad Khalid on Wednesday said that through the energy conservation plan Pepco has saved 400MW more than the set target for electricity per day.

Khalid said that they had set a target of saving electricity up to 500MW per day but the energy conservation plan had in fact saved around 900MW per day.

While addressing a press briefing at Wapda House, he said that federal and provincial governments and private organisations have to pay Rs1 billion to Wapda.

He said that Wapda has issued notices to those who have failed to pay their dues and that such people will be facing power cuts.

He said that if administrations belonging to the private housing schemes do not cooperate with the plan strict action will be taken against them.—DawnNews
