LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to start a Sasti Daal Scheme after the hike in the prices of lentils, a private TV channel reported on Friday.
CM’s Media Coordinator Khawaja Imran Nazir said the decision was made in a meeting of the Sasti Roti Scheme. He added that the chief minister started Sasti Roti Scheme for poor people, and “now a decision to provide lentils on cheaper prices has been made”. Nazir said the Punjab government would import lentils, and “provide it to the poor under the Sasti Daal Scheme”. He said that the government would also cut the market price of lentils by providing subsidised rates on it. daily times monitor
