LAHORE

THE Lahore High Court has issued a notice to Veena Malik on a petition of cricketer Asif and also issued a notice to Ghalib Market SHO for not registering an FIR against Asif on a plea of Veena.

The LHC sought their replies till April 19. Veena and Asif, former best friends, had filed petitions before the Lahore High Court against each other. Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry of the LHC ordered the Ghalib Market Police Station SHO to file his reply for not registering an FIR against Asif on the complaint of Veena. The court issued a notice to Veena on a petition of Asif seeking order to stop her from initiating any action against him over bogus cheques only to blackmail him.

Veena’s counsel submitted before the court that the SHO of Ghalib Market was nor registering FIR against Asif even after an additional district and sessions judge had ordered the FIR. He said Asif issued her bogus cheques worth Rs 11.3 million on February 10 this year to pay back her loan. He said she also sent him a legal notice to return her money but to no avail.
