CHAMAN: The nationalist parties in Chaman are celebrating the decision of giving to the NWFP the name of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw, Geo News reported Thursday.
Balochistan’s Pashtoonkhaw Mili Awami Party and Awami National Party (ANP) are celebrating the naming of the NWFP as Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw with hundreds of their worker dancing on roads and streets.
The city has been decorated with flags of nationalist parties. A joint rally by Pashtoonkhaw MAP and the ANP was taken out which routed from various roads to Chawk Shuhada, where a large public gathering was held.
Addressing the gathering, the party leaders thanked all the democratic and political forces of the country, who approved with consensus the name of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw and accepted the identity of Pakhtoon nation.
The festivities will last till late night today.
